Senior Property Tax Exemption
Due to the legislation passed in 2003, the funding of the senior Property Tax Exemption program has been suspended until 2007. Qualifying seniors who applied for the exemption in 2003 WILL NOT receive any reduction in property taxes in 2004 through 2006.
If the status of funding of Senior Exemption at the state level changes, you will be notified by mail by this office.
Your application will remain active in our data base so that you will not have to reapply when the Senior Citizen Exemption is reinstated by the state. However, statute requires that notice be given to the assessor within 60 days of any change in ownership or occupancy that would prevent an exemption from continuing.
If you have any questions, please call the Assessor's Office at (970) 345-6662
